Steven Cameau, founding partner and president of Halifax-based Collideascope Digital Productions, was presented the Industry Advocate of the Year award at Newmedia2000, the first annual Canadian new media awards, held in Toronto May 15 -18.

The award signifies Cameau’s leading efforts to encourage the new media industry in Canada in 1999. Among Cameau’s impressive portfolio of advocacy work in new media is his founding membership of impac, the Interactive Multimedia Producers Association of Canada, and his ongoing involvement in Telefilm Canada’s New Media Advisory Committee.

Twelve outstanding industry leaders were presented with glass Pixel Awards at the gala ceremony attended by more than 800 industry professionals.
