The Ontario Film Development Corporation, in partnership with tvontario, is launching a Documentary Calling Card program, an initiative designed to create new professional development opportunities for emerging doc makers in Ontario.

Up to four teams of Ontario producers and directors will receive $15,000 support from the ofdc and a $10,000 pre-licence from tvo to create a half-hour doc to air on The View From Here.

Applications will be shortlisted based on creative merit by two industry readers, and the shortlisted team will pitch a jury of doc industry professionals, including Rudy Buttignol, tvo’s head of documentaries, for a greenlight decision.

Additional program partners include the Hot Docs Festival and the Canadian Independent Film Caucus. Samantha Yaffe
