In an effort to build audience interest for the April 14 launch of American Psycho, Lions Gate Films and Pseudo Programs have launched a month-long Net campaign that extends the film’s story. The focal point of the campaign is Pseudo, billed as ‘the world’s largest original Internet tv network.’ On March 15, Pseudo (www.pseudo.com) hosted the launch of Am.Psycho 2000, a continuation of the novel of the same name from Bret Easton Ellis, and supervised by Ellis. Am.Psycho 2000 provides interested e-mail recipients with a series of cliffhanger e-mails – serial sequels, or e-quels – featuring a wide range of streaming video, film outtakes, production footage and original content.
Lions Gate Films is headquartered in Vancouver, while Pseudo Programs, based in New York, provides online interactive tv content.
