Montreal: The province’s largest technical services companies, including Covitec, Vision Globale, Location Michel Trudel, Groupe Moliflex, Dussault and Montage Metaphore, have announced the launch of a new lobby group, Association des Fournisseurs de Services Techniques.
An afst (unofficial translation – Technical Service Providers Association) press release says, ‘The founding of this association results from a thinking process launched with the publication, last November, of the Lampron report [on the state of public financing in Quebec], in which the various components of the industry were invited to establish a form of self-regulation in order to tighten their control over the use of the public funds made available to producers.’
Stephane Lestage, president of Metaphore, is acting president until the new association’s first general meeting in the spring.
Quebec’s technical services companies split with the apftq producers association, mainly over the issue of foreign service productions, about a year and a half ago.
