Cogeco applies for VOD

Montreal: At its recent agm in Toronto, Cogeco Cable confirmed it has filed an application with the crtc for a licence to offer a video-on-demand service on its cable systems in Ontario and Quebec.

At the agm, the cable company reported year-end net profit after income taxes has grown 12% to $22 million. Top-line revenue increased by 13% to $325 million, due in part to the expansion of its cable systems and high-speed Internet access service, marketed under the Rapidus, Wave and @Home brand names.
