The Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival will accept doc submissions for its Canadian Nominee Programme and International Showcase until Jan. 5, 2000.

There are 15 different competitive categories within the Canadian Nominee Programme, including best feature, best social issues doc and best series. For the International Showcase, Hot Docs will accept entries from docmakers spanning the globe and selected films will receive their Toronto debut at the festival, running May 1-7, 2000.

In other Hot Docs news, Karen Tisch has been appointed the festival’s managing director. Tisch makes the move from the Toronto Arts Council where she held the post of visual and media arts officer.
