In memory of late Riverdale star Marion Gilsenan who died of pancreatic cancer earlier this year, the series’ cast, crew, production partners and sponsors have contributed to the Marion Gilsenan Soap Fund, which was presented to the Canadian Cancer Society in the form of a $35,500 cheque. The presentation took place last week at cbc’s Glenn Gould Theatre, where Epitome Pictures was celebrating the launch of Riverdale’s third season.

The cast, crew and friends of Riverdale also donated their time and services to the creation of a public service announcement, coproduced by Epitome and the ccs, which will appear on the cbc throughout the fall.

Gilsenan has received a Gemini nomination for Best Performance by an Actress in a Featured Supporting Role in a Dramatic Series for her work on Riverdale.
