Halifax’s Salter Street Films reports a 73% increase in revenue for its third quarter of fiscal 1999 (ending July 31). Revenue jumped to $5.6 million, compared to $3.2 million in the same period last year. ebitda for the quarter was $1.1 million, compared to a $133,000 loss in the third quarter of ’98. Net income for the quarter was $654,000, compared to a net loss of $293,000 in the same period in ’98.
Salter credits some success in the third quarter to $1.5 million in revenues and net income of $1.1 million related to investment activity, including revenue from the sale of Salter’s 0.9% equity interest in Showcase, plus the delivery of 38 half-hours of programming, compared to 16 half-hours in the same period last year.
Revenues for the first nine months of ’99 rose 80% to $26.8 million from $14.9 million in ’98.
