Four weeks before its premiere, the new Lions Gate Television series Hope Island has received an order for nine more episodes from pax tv. The new order expands the first season to 22 hour-long episodes.

Based on the long-running British series Ballykissangel, Hope Island stars Cameron Daddo as a newly ordained minister assigned to a church on a small island populated by dreamers, eccentrics and oddballs. The series premieres Sunday, Sept. 12.

Paramount International Television distributes the show internationally.
