Toronto-based direct-broadcast-satellite service Bell ExpressVu has added 17 new channels to its roster, bringing the total number of video and music channels offered to 180.

The new channels, available at no extra cost to subscribers, include bobtv, Star!, Black Entertainment Television, The Health Network, Canadian Learning Television, Aboriginal Peoples Television Network, The Shopping Channel, MovieMax!, Teletoon French, cpac (English and French), L’Assemblee nationale du Quebec, Canal Savoir, Crossroads Television System, Fairchild West, FOX West and the Saskatchewan Communications Network.

Bell hopes to have 200 channels (music and video) by Nov. 1, at which time it plans to launch its own pay-per-view service offering 30 ppv channels.
