* The National Film Board has named Andreanne Bournival to the position of director-general, French Program.
Bournival, who is presently working as a consultant for the French Program, is a former director-general of programs at Radio-Canada, program director with TV5 Quebec-Canada and vp programming with specialty channel Canal D.
She is the Quebec chairperson of the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television, a post she has held since June 1997.
The French Program produces some 40 titles annually on a budget of $17 million. Bournival begins her new duties Sept. 7.
* Charlotte Paling has been named director of legal and business affairs at Blackwatch Commmunications, an integrated Montreal-based production and distribution company.
Paling is a member of the Ontario Bar and a former senior tax credit officer, business and legal affairs at the Canadian Heritage cavco certification office.
In other Blackwatch apppointments, Stephen P. Fox becomes vp, operations, and Lise Chapdelaine is senior controller. Industry veteran Jean Paradis has joined distrib Blackwatch Releasing and manager Andy Myers in Toronto as manager, distribution.
* Four appointments have been announced at Alliance Atlantis Motion Picture division. Nelson Kuo-Lee, former director of operations, has been appointed to vp, operations, Motion Picture Distribution.
David Partridge, who has been with the company since 1995 as gm of video, has been promoted to vp, home video for Alliance Atlantis Motion Picture Distribution, Canada.
Former director of sales in Quebec, Patrick Roy, has been promoted to vp, acquisitions and sales for Alliance Atlantis Vivafilm, the company’s Quebec-based motion picture distribution unit.
And Doug Smith has been promoted from director of television sales, English Canada, to vp of the department.
Meanwhile, Michael MacMillan, president of aac, has been named a finalist in the 1999 Ontario Entrepreneur of the Year program.
* WIC Television is repositioning its national sales division under the name WIC Television Sales, which will represent wic’s nine tv stations across Canada. The wts team will be headquartered in Toronto and helmed by exec vp Lori Legault.
The Montreal team will join forces with CFCF 12 under the direction of George Goulakos, vp sales and marketing. In Vancouver, wts will partner with bctv and vp sales Brett Manlove. In Alberta, wts will work with Glenn Young, vp of sales for ITV, RDTV, CISA and Calgary 7.
