Walsh, Wehrfritz to be in TIFF

The Players Film Company director Bradley Walsh and Jolly Rogers’ Curtis Wehrfritz will get their shot at the big screen when their films unspool as part of Perspective Canada at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival.

Wehrfritz’s Four Days will make its world premiere at tiff. Shot by Miroslaw Baszak and produced by Cite Amerique, Four Days is a bank-heist-gone-wrong film about a small-time thief named Milt, who double-crosses his partner and gives his loot to his teenage son, aka The Kid. Unaware that his father died during the heist, The Kid heads north expecting to meet his dad but finds his father’s irate partner instead.

Walsh’s 25-minute short Frog Pond, which he made with assistance from the Ontario Film Development Corporation’s Calling Card Program, is about the world’s greatest frog catcher (which Walsh claims to be). Frog Pond is a comedic drama that Walsh says will appeal to anyone who remembers 1977. David Greene was dop.
