The Canadian Film Centre in Toronto begins its 1999 Film Resident Programme on July 28 and has selected 28 producers, directors, writers and editors to participate. This year will see the cfc doors open to six British Columbia filmmakers, the largest number of b.c. residents to date.
The resident directors are Keith Behrman, Claudia Morgado-Escanilla and Johanna Mercer from Vancouver; Lisa Robertson, Garine Torossian, Mary Ann Georgescu and Dawn Wilkinson from Toronto; and, Andrew Kaufman from Halifax.
Writers in residence are Tassie Cameron, Aaron Martin, Lynn McPherson, Craig Cornell, Lucie Page and Djanet Sears from Toronto; Matt Holland from Montreal; and, Megan Martin from Saskatoon.
Resident producers include Tracey Boulton, Seanna McPherson and Leah Mallen from Vancouver, and Brent Barclay, Natalie Hoban, Seana O’Neil, Jennifer Harkness and Jennifer Holness from Toronto.
The editors in residence are Anthony Gratl and Greg Hopen of Toronto and Katharine Asals and Marlo Miazga of Montreal.
In previous years, the cfc’s Residents Programme has hosted Don McKellar, Semi Chellas and Christina Jennings.
