Under the terms of a merger agreement which brings four specialty channels – Showcase, History Television, Life Network and HGTV Canada – under the new corporate entity Alliance Atlantis Broadcasting, $8 million will be allocated between Showcase and History over a seven-year licence period for additional independently produced programming.
