Series shut down

Montreal: Production on the high-tech security miniseries Haute Surveillance has been shut down after filming was completed on the initial two hours of the six-hour production.

Radio-Canada program director Daniel Gourd has asked for major changes to the production, including cast and directorial changes. A spokesperson for the producer, SDA Productions, says costs for the first two hours of the series, initially planned as a telefilm or tv movie, are about 20% over-budget. The per-hour budget is $900,000.

Haute Surveillance is a French-track action series, and is ‘unlike anything we’ve ever seen in Quebec,’ says the sda spokesperson.
