The article ‘actra signs show deals,’ published in the previous issue of Playback, suggests that ACTRA Performers Guild is signing independent contracts with producers as the union negotiates a new collective agreement with employers. Instead, ACTRA Performers Guild (rather than ACTRA National) is inviting producers to sign on to its last offer at the negotiating table. See p. 8 for the new story about the ‘Gold Book Interim Agreement,’ which was unveiled two weeks ago.

The May 17 Quebec Scene column incorrectly reported New Line Syndication and Fremantle Corp. are distributing the Telescene Film Group tv series pilot Blackheart. Telescene has not yet named a distributor for the program. New Line is the u.s. syndicator and Fremantle has international sales rights on the Action Adventure Network series Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s The Lost World, currently in production.
