Vancouver: The Canadian Television Fund’s Licence Fee Program has announced projects offered assistance through the International Treaty Co-productions envelope.
Among the lucky recipients are: the third season of Animal Crackers (Funnyzoo Productions, Montreal); the third season of kids’ show Believe It or Not (Mysterious Productions, Montreal), a second season of 26 animated episodes of Billy the Cat (noa, Vancouver) and three documentaries by Edmonton’s Great North Productions – David Thomson/ Rae in the Arctic, Doves and Pigeons: Peace Symbol and Urban Pest and Kinmel Park Riots.
The third season of Lexx (DZ 3 Productions, Halifax) will go ahead along with other drama projects, including Lucille Teasdale: A Passion for Life (SDA Productions, Montreal) and The Bookfair Murders (Triptych Media, Toronto).
Animated series Watership Down (Watership Productions, Toronto) will do another 21 episodes. Other children’s programming includes: Children of Chelm (Chelm Productions, Toronto), the second season of animated series Mumble Bumble (Pond Life Productions, Montreal), series Tales from the Longhouse (Catalyst Entertainment, Toronto) and the second season of The Worst Witch (GalaFilm, Montreal).
Other documentary coprods getting offer letters are: Anna Leonowens – Getting to Know You (Alki Productions, Halifax); Bad Girls (L’Amour En L’An 2000, Montreal); Chronique du Premier Age (Ateliers Du Cinema Quebecois, St-Lambert); Le Printemps (Cine Qua Non, Montreal); Mack Sennet, Roi Du Comique (Max Films, Montreal); and, Odyssey of Food (Prismapro, Montreal).
