* Salter Street Films has appointed Thomas Howe as director of acquisitions. Howe will be joining the company on a one-year consulting basis. Before joining Salter Street May 1, Howe will complete his tenure as cbc’s senior director, international coproductions, sales and acquisitions.

At Salter New Media, John Sao Miguel has been appointed to the position of cfo. Most recently, Miguel was with the Halifax Equity Group as a partner.

* Myrianne Pavlovic has been named director, drama programs with Societe Radio-Canada. A former senior manager with Telefilm Canada (1984 to 1997), Pavlovic is currently exec producer and director of development at SDA Productions, the Coscient Group entertainment and documentary unit. She leaves Coscient in June and assumes her new post with src Sept. 1.

Pavlovic replaces Jean Salvy, who held the post since 1995. Salvy is retiring.

* Orrin Stroll is the new director of business and legal affairs for Shavick Entertainment in Vancouver. Previously, Stroll worked at the Vancouver law firms of Dolden Walker Folick and Oriss Burns, and has a degree in film and communications from McGill University.
