French-track feature slate unveiled

Montreal: Ten French-language feature film producers have received ‘offer’ letters from Telefilm Canada’s operations office in Montreal.

They include several films already in preproduction: Pin Pon en Camping (La Petite Fete) from Films Vision 4, La Beaute de Pandore from director Charles Biname (Le Coeur de Poing, Eldorado) and producer Cite-Amerique, and a Robert Favreau feature based on a Marc-Andre Bouchard (Lilies) stageplay.

Other projects with an offer letter include La Vie Apres l’Amour from director Gabriel Pelletier (Max Films), Laura Cadieux II from Denise Filiatreault (Cinemaginaire), L’Invention de l’Amour from director/producer Claude Demers, and a project called Hochelaga from filmmaker Michel Jette.

Telefilm has also confirmed an offer for 15 Fevrier 1839, a conquest drama from director Pierre Falardeau (Octobre, Le Party) and producer acpav. The controversial project was previously turned down twice by the federal funding agency.

As many as 22 French-track feature film projects had applied for production funding this spring.
