*Devine deal

Toronto’s Devine Entertainment is partnering with Rollercoaster Studios, also of Toronto, to develop an interactive children’s edutainment Website. The site will spin off content from the company’s tv programs including The Inventors’ Specials, The Artists’ Specials and The Composers’ Specials.

Storage One of Toronto is in the midst of acquiring Rollercoaster and proposes to change the company’s name to EcomPark.

*Imax goes to Italy

Imax Corp. has signed a six-theatre agreement with Italy’s Medusa Film S.p.A., the Fininvest-owned theatre chain, to bring imax theatres to Italy by 2003. The deal represents imax’s largest international contract to date.

Recently, the company signed a contract with Gaumont Cinemas, the second largest theatre chain in France. There is now one imax theatre operation in France, with three more scheduled to open.

Other deals have recently been struck in Germany, Israel, Hungary and Turkey.
