Soho garners prizes at N.Y. Festivals

Toronto’s Soho Post and Graphics was recognized for its broadcast design initiatives recently, scooping a pair of awards at the TV Programming and Promotion component of the New York Festivals show.

The shop earned a Silver World Medal for its work on the Showcase Television redesign and Bronze for the Treehouse Net Cue broadcast design effort. Mike Andringa out of The Partners’ Film Company acted as director/ cameraman on the Showcase project.

Soho creative director Tony Cleave and the shop’s broadcast design team have been spearheading a major initiative by the company into the burgeoning broadcast design area. The shop has worked on a number of design projects, including jobs for the cbc and Life Network.

With the explosion of broadcast work internationally, Cleave says Soho has targeted u.s.-originated work as a next step for the company and the shop has been in discussion with a number of u.s. networks regarding impending design projects.
