Montreal: Montreal program format exporter Distraction, headed by president Michel Rodrigue, reports deals with u.k. production company Mentorn Barraclough Carey and London Weekend Television, a unit of Granada Media.

mbc will develop two light-entertainment formats from Distraction, Star For A Night and Love Bugs, a popular Radio-Canada ‘battle of the sexes’ sitcom from producer Avanti Cine Video. In the two-way agreement, Distraction is looking for Canadian business for two mbc formats, Robot Wars, a new concept ‘techno game show’ and Claim to Fame, both licensed by bbc.

lwt has optioned two Distraction game show formats, The Mad Dash and Hot Pepper, broadcast in Quebec on Reseau tva as Piment Fort and also produced by Avanti.
