Richard Stursberg has resigned as president of the Canadian Cable Television Association to join dth provider Star Choice as president and ceo.
Stursberg replaces John Cassaday who held the position on an interim basis. Majority controlled by Shaw Communications, Star Choice is currently trying to merge its operations with satellite company Cancom.
Stursberg was thought to be a candidate for the cbc presidency. He will remain chairman of the ctf until June.
Susan Baldwin, executive director, broadcasting for the crtc, is touted as Stursberg’s potential replacement at the ccta.
