Cinar brings new eps of Shelby, Dark

For those Bourbon St. bound this month, pages 12-14 offer a wrap of some of the new projects Canadian companies will be shopping at NATPE in New Orleans Jan. 25 to 28.

Cinar Corporation series headed to natpe include two programs produced with Nickelodeon – 13 new episodes of Are You Afraid of The Dark?, bringing the total to 78, and the 20 half-hour program The Mystery Files of Shelby Woo, which will air in Canada on CanWest Global.

Cinar is selling new episodes of the following programs: Arthur, Emily of New Moon, The Wombles, Mumble Bumble, and hbo-licensed series The Country Mouse and the City Mouse Adventures, Little Lulu and Paddington Bear.

Cinar is also hoping to close an order for 13 more episodes of Animal Crackers, currently licensed to Teletoon in Canada and Fox Family in the u.s.

A new series to be delivered in fall 1999 is Believe It Or Not, 26 episodes in production for Fox Family and Family Channel (Canada).

A u.s. broadcast is currently being negotiated on the 26 half-hour animated series Mona the Vampire, a coproduction with French company Alphanim for Canada’s ytv.

Cinar is also looking for broadcast sales on its slate of family films, which includes Sally Marshall is Not an Alien, a copro with Infinity Films in Australia about a new girl on the block who is ostracized by a group of kids; and Ghost of Dickens Past, the life story of Charles Dickens, produced with Salt Lake City company Feature Films For Families (Canada).
