*The Canadian Association of Broadcasters has appointed Sylvie Courtemanche to the new position of senior vp, specialty and regulatory affairs. Sandra Graham has been appointed to vp, public affairs.

*At the cftpa, Isabel Metcalfe has been appointed vp, government relations and Kristen Dolenko has been promoted to director, research and development.

*Jacques Parisien has been named to the newly created post of corporate vp, development at Astral Communications. Parisien joined Astral in January 1997 as senior vp development, Astral Broadcasting Group.

*Former Le Canal Nouvelles producer Catherine Dupont has been named producer, news, public affairs and sports with private broadcaster Television Quatre Saisons.

*At its recent agm, Societe des auteurs, recherchistes, documentalistes et compositeurs elected a new board of directors for a two-year term. Suzanne Aubry is re-elected president and Bernard Montas is the new vp.

Other board members are: Joanne Arseneau, Anne Lecours, Sylvie Lussier, Annie Pierard, Daphne Pontbriand and Francine Tougas. Yves Legare is director-general.

*The b.c. chapter of the documentary-oriented Canadian Independent Film Caucus elected a new board at its agm last month.

The executive includes Vancouver filmmakers Lynn Booth, Gary Marcuse, Cari Green, Brian Hamilton, Cassandra Freeman, Jill Sharpe, Stephen Carruthers, La Vonne Girard, Mark Achbar, Gretchen Jordan-Bastow, Bruce Spangler, Yueqing Yang and Cindy Leaney.

*Supersuite PostProduction, a subsidiary of Groupe Covitec, has announced several appointments including Guy Langlois, director, production technology; Daniel Claveau, technical producer for series, former Vision Globale staffer Barbara Hutchison, technical producer, advertising, and from Station 29, Francois Paradis, coordinator.

Veteran Flame artist Denis Mondion is vp, technology. Francois Renouf is Supersuite’s gm.
