In recognition of his work in the promotion of French culture, executive director of tfo Jacques Bensimon has been honored with the insignia of Chevalier des Arts et Lettres by France’s Consul General Pierre-Jean Vandoorne.

Bensimon is a member of the TV5 board of directors in Canada, vp of the international board for French-speaking radio and television and of the International Association of Educational and Discovery Televisions.

Other Canadian members of the Ordre des Arts et Lettres include David Cronenberg; Atom Egoyan; Piers Handling, director of the Toronto International Film Festival Group; James Quandt, Cinematheque Ontario director of programs; and Lucie Amyot, tvontario producer and vp of the Art Gallery of Ontario board.
