The four-hour historical miniseries Revenge of the Land has been licensed in the u.s. by cbs.
‘This is the first time a u.s. broadcaster has prebought a miniseries based on a Canadian story starring an all-Canadian cast,’ says Bernard Zukerman, who is producing in association with Cinar Films.
Earlier, cbs had acquired the miniseries Million Dollar Babies, produced by the same Canadian team.
Revenge of the Land is a Western epic set on the turn-of-the-century prairies, directed by John N. Smith, written by Sharon Riis and based on the book by Maggie Siggins. The $12.5-million production is currently filming and will air in Canada on cbc.
