Sony Pictures Entertainment has formed an agreement of intent with Toronto media management company The Bulldog Group which includes an equity investment by Sony in Bulldog.

The agreement also entails a ‘significant’ financial investment by Sony and a multiple year contract to purchase and develop Bulldog software. Bulldog develops products for companies in entertainment, broadcasting, post production and advertising industries to facilitate media management and streamlines production processes.

The deal has Sony assuming a minority interest in Bulldog and committing financial, technical and personnel resources to Bulldog products. Sony will commit senior staff to various areas of Bulldog’s business, will enhance the Bulldog infrastructure for servers, networks and workstations and will participate in the development of the overall Bulldog architecture. Bulldog’s software programming will continue to be centred in Toronto.
