Nick Broomfield’s controversial documentary Kurt and Courtney has been purchased for Canadian distribution by Behaviour.

The film about the life and death of Nirvana singer Kurt Cobain and his relationship with wife Courtney Love will open in Toronto at the Bloor on Nov. 6 and in Vancouver at The Ridge on Nov. 27.

In other Behaviour news, production arm Filmline International’s feature This Is My Father has been purchased for u.s. distribution by Sony Pictures Classics.

Although all are mum on the details, sources say Vancouver-based North American Pictures, WIC Western International Communications and Pearson New Entertainment in London, Eng. are working out the final details on a new tv series coproduction. The budget is thought in the range of $30 million.
