Outgoing Alliance Communications chairman and ceo Robert Lantos’ new production company is to be called Serendipity Point.

The new company, which promises to be an instant power in Canada’s burgeoning feature film industry through an in-house production deal with Alliance Atlantis Communications, is reportedly named after Lantos’ north Ontario cottage.

Serendipity’s logo will debut as a producer credit on David Cronenberg’s upcoming feature eXistenZ, which is currently posting in Toronto. Word is that Cronenberg is currently in discussions with Lantos to have his next as-yet-untitled feature produced by Serendipity for aac.

Webster’s Dictionary defines serendipity as ‘the faculty of finding valuable or agreeable things not sought for.’
