Un gars, une fille tops BBM ratings

Montreal: The Avanti Cine Video sketch comedy Un gars, une fille topped the summer bbm book for the extended Montreal francophone market with 546,000 viewers, making it the top-rated Radio-Canada program of the past five years.

Reseau tva is the summer’s primetime leader with a 26 share, down from a 30 share last year. Radio-Canada’s share in primetime edged up to 19 from 17 a year ago.

tva’s 6 p.m. supper-hour newscast ranked second in the franco Montreal market with 461,000 viewers, followed by two other tva shows, Place Melrose and the movie L’Arme fatale.

The new src karaoke game show La Fureur did well, ranking fifth. The show and its host Veronique Cloutier loom large as major components of the network’s on-air fall program promotions.

Format rights to Avanti’s Un gars, une fille, a slightly naughty take on coupledom, have been sold to a dozen foreign markets, according to Montreal-based seller Distraction, a joint venture between The Multimedia Group of Canada and DDI Television.
