Banff: The ctcpf annual general meeting at the Banff Television Festival saw the election of Richard Stursberg, president of the Canadian Cable Television Association, as chairperson of the ctcpf board. Stursberg replaces Peter Herrndorf, who acted as interim chairperson over the past year.

Global Television’s vp of Canadian production, Loren Mawhinney, has been elected to the previously vacant position of vice chairperson. Mawhinney was previously board secretary.

Louise Baillargeon, president of the Quebec producers association, the apftq, is the new treasurer and Richard Paradis, president of the Canadian Association of Film Distributors and Exporters, is board secretary.

Two board members have been appointed. Trina McQueen will replace Showcase/History Television’s Phyllis Yaffe and Radio-Canada’s Charles Ohayon will replace cbc’s Phyllis Platt.

In other appointment news, Calgary writer/director Donald Archbold has been snagged by Saskfilm as the new general manager. Previous gm Mark Prasuhn has moved on to Minds Eye Pictures.
