B.C. Tel was about to unveil its new production fund as Playback went to press.

The company is launching its fund, once known as the Innovation Fund, for new media and broadcast projects. The $10-million kitty will be paid out over five years, but there are plans to replenish the fund to maintain it over a longer period.

In the longer term, the fund plans to finance training and development projects. Specific details about the fund, the board named to govern it, and how to apply were not available prior to the official launch on Feb. 24 in Vancouver.
