In the wake of the specialty channel post mortem Nov. 24, word is expected from the crtc that hearings on the next round of specialty channel applications have been postponed until the first quarter of 1999.

Workers at Toronto’s Deluxe film lab will be voting the first week in December on whether or not to join iatse and become unionized.

Citing the issues of job security and fair and equitable procedure for promotion, representatives from IATSE International and Locals 683 and 695 Los Angeles met with employees on Friday, Nov. 28, to provide information and look for union support.

Deluxe employees in l.a. are already unionized.
