Montreal: The Cinematheque Quebecoise tribute to Moses Znaimer on the occasion of Citytv’s 25th anniversary concludes Oct. 30 with a screening of some 20 recent short films and videos produced with Bravo!fact funding.
The program was launched in late 1995 and has committed $1.5 million to 118 projects, 77 of which are completed, says executive director Judy Gladstone,
Gladstone and MusiquePlus executive director Pierre Marchand will use the occasion to announce the launch of the new MusiMax video production fund, Maxfact.
The $250,000 annual fund will be administered by Gladstone and an expanded Bravo!fact jury, which includes Marchand and a yet-to-be-named representative from the Quebec music industry.
Classical, blues, Quebec country, jazz, world beat and adult contemporary videos are eligible for up to $25,000 in funding. ‘We’re hoping for a start-up within a month,’ says Gladstone. The first Maxfact applications will be processed by Dec. 3, she says.
