Time-Life Kids has obtained u.s. and Japan video distribution rights to the new Cinar Films/Protecrea animation series The Adventures of Paddington Bear. The agreement covers all home video rights in the u.s. and direct response rights in Japan.

Kids’ most successful preschool properties to date are The Big Comfy Couch, Donna’s Day and Zoo Life.

Cinar recently filed a new prospectus with the u.s. Securities and Exchange Commission and the Quebec and Ontario Security Commission for the sale of three million subordinate shares, 2.75 million from treasury and 250,000 from the principal shareholders. Cinar says funds are slotted for recently acquired Carson-Dellosa Publishing and for potential new acquisitions.
