Production has begun in Regina on 13 half-hours of a new concept in kids’ tv production. The Incredible Story Studio is ‘the place where kids can tell their own stories on TV.’
Budgeted at $3.1 million and produced by Kevin DeWalt of Minds Eye Pictures and Virginia Thompson of Verite Films, the series is geared to tweens, with stories written by kids, for kids, and performed by kids.
Producer/creators Robert de Lint and Thompson, received more than 6,000 story ideas from school kids across Canada and saw more than 800 youngsters at a Saskatchewan casting call hoping to fill a spot in the show’s repertory company.
The show wraps Nov. 14 and will be distributed by Evergreen Releasing. TVOntario, WIC’s ITV and SCN have Canadian broadcast rights.
