Patterson to rep Lovinger/Cohn

Susi Patterson, former executive producer at the now-disbanded comm.bat films, is back in the commercial game handling Canadian representation for the directors of Lovinger/Cohn & Associates and Scream.

Patterson had an association with New York-based Lovinger/ Cohn going back to the days of Damast Gordon & Associates, the precursor to comm.bat, as well as with associated company Scream, which opened its l.a.-based offices less than a year ago.

Patterson will act as Canadian executive producer and representative of the rosters of Lovinger/Cohn and Scream, who are partners in the Canadian office venture. The l/c roster includes Paul Cade, who is based in Canada, Laura Belsey, Jeff Lovinger, Michael Rowles and newest addition Kim Dempster. Scream’s lineup consists of Stephen Tobin and director/cameraman Stefan Wurnitzer, both based in l.a., Texas-based Tracy Helms, Austria’s Viktor Dittrich, Italy’s Dario Piana and Paris-based Fabrice Carazo.

‘They’ve had a great relationship with me,’ says Patterson. ‘It made perfect sense for us to keep together and do this venture on our own.’

Patterson says the directors, many of whom have already been exposed to Canadian work, were interested in setting up shop here, citing strong creative as a drawing card. Operations will be conducted out of 29 Strathcona in Toronto.
