CBC Newsworld has added six new business shows for its fall schedule and is promising more live broadcasts of news events as they happen, to counter the September launch of CTV’s News 1.
The new business coverage will begin weekday mornings at 6:30 a.m. with National Business Report: Breakfast. At 11:30 a.m. Newsworld will be offering National Business Report: Working day, and at 6:30 p.m. National Business Review: Early Edition.
At 11:30 pm et, the new flagship business newscast National Business Report will appear. Vince Carlin, head of CBC Newsworld, says the focus on business programming plays into the network’s strategy of reaching the under-covered business oriented audience.
Newsworld also debuts two weekly business programs, Your Money Matters and National Business Report: Weekly.
Other new shows include Anne Petrie’s Talk tv at 7 p.m. et. Debuting at noon et is eh! from Halifax. From 1 to 3 pm Kathleen Petty hosts Dayside, live from Calgary. Ralph Benmergui Live moves to 3 p.m. weekdays, and Face-Off will now appear once a week on Saturday afternoons in an hour-long format.
At 9 p.m. the network will be running the first window of The National.
