As part of the launch of RealScreen, Brunico Communications’ new international publication on factual programming, a round of related staff announcements were made.
Shelley Middlebrook, publisher of Playback, will add to her duties the publisher role on the new magazine. Mary Maddever, while remaining editor of Playback, will assume the executive editor position, while Mary Ellen Armstrong, formerly staff writer on Playback, is promoted to editor of RealScreen. On the sales side, account manager Diane Rankin shifts from Playback to RealScreen sales.
‘Canada is a strong producer of factual programs, particularly documentaries, so it makes good sense for us to borrow on the expertise and knowledge base from the Playback team to launch and run RealScreen,’ says Kathy Hamill, Brunico vp and group publisher.
‘RealScreen is a very exciting new product for Brunico, and it fits very well within our growth strategy. We look forward to serving the international broadcast and production industry with a focus on another growing and exciting niche. With these talented people, I’m confident RealScreen will become the international source for factual programming in the same way KidScreen has become the source for children’s entertainment.’
