Commercial Directions: Straiton wins lottery, Taco Bell and gas

At Imported Artists director Richard D’Alessio shot two days in Toronto and Miami with dop Simon Mestel for H&R Block tax prep through Young & Rubicam. Executive producer on the three spots was Christina Ford and editor was Mick Griffin at Flashcut. Music was produced by Tantrum and recorded at Manta.

Kessler Irish Films’ Frank Tammariello directed three days in Toronto for the Ford Mercury Dealers of Alberta through Y&R Calgary, with David Makin on dop duty. Executive producer was Kate Hunter and editing was handled by David Buder at Atomic Broadcast.

Director Ron Baxter Smith and dop George Willis shot two days for the Toyota Dealers Association through Saatchi & Saatchi. Ron Grittani executive produced and Panic & Bob’s David Baxter edited.

At Rave Films, director David Straiton shot one day with dop Craig Mullins for Kellogg’s through Leo Burnett. Executive producer was Ken Eggett and Smash Editorial’s Denis Takacs edited.

Straiton also shot a day for the same client with dop Rhett Morita.

Straiton directed a day for Taco Bell through Bozell Palmer Bonner with dop Ryan McMaster. Eggett executive produced and Flashcut’s Brian Noon edited. Waveform handled the 3D animation.

Straiton had an additional day for Lotto 6/49 out of Cossette, with Marcus Elliott the dop. Eggett executive produced and Panic & Bob’s Brian Williams edited.

And finally, Straiton and Morita teamed up for a day of Consumers Gas through Gee Jeffery. Chris Dalton executive produced and Noon edited.

Director David Hackl shot one day with Morita for General Mills through fcb. Eggett was executive producer and Takacs edited.

Bob Canning directed a day with Nick Allen-Woolfe on camera for Bounty out of Leo Burnett. Dalton was executive producer and Third Floor’s Brant Lambermont edited.

Jack Churchill directed and shot two days for kfc through Ogilvy & Mather, with Dalton executive producing and Panic & Bob’s Baxter editing.

Cactus Productions director James Head shot two days in Vancouver with dop Ron Williams and bionic star Lindsay Wagner for the BC Ford and Mercury Dealers Windstar, Escort ZX2 and Explorer through y&r. Producer was Dian Cross and editing was handled by Deb Tregale at Coast Mountain.

Avion Films director Jean-Marc Piche shot one day for Bubblicious and Bates with dop Simon Mestel.

Tim Hamilton shot one day with dop George Morita for Accutane out of Anderson Advertising.

Martin Granger directed three days for Christie with dop Stanley Mestel through Harrod & Mirlin.

Granger also teamed up with George Morita on two days for Bell Canada through bbdo.

At The Partners’ Film Company, director Eric Yealland shot one day with dop Glen Keenan for Snapple through FCB Chicago. Producer was Trudy Turner and editing is being handled by Greg Snider out of Chicago’s Looking Glass.

l.a.-based director/dop Peter Moss has landed three days for Tropicana through fcb. Charlene Sanderson is producing and Jeff Bessner will edit at Partners’ Post.

Christina Hodnet is shooting her first Partners’ project, a Special Olympics spot through Grey Canada, with dop Miroslaw Baszak. Nancy Lee is producing and James Taylor will edit at Partners’ Post.

Barbara Cole directed three days with Baszak on camera for Winners. Victoria Pollock produced and Panic & Bob’s Michelle Czukar edited.

Clay Staub directed two days with Baszak for Sprite through Burrell Communications of Chicago. Merrie Wasson produced and Bruce Copeman of Axyz Edit handled post.

Director/dop Greg Hoey shot two days for Carrows Restaurant through l.a.-based Cohen Johnson. Evelyn Arthur produced and editing is being handled stateside.
