At comm.bat films, Steve Gordon directed and shot a day for Colgate Palmolive’s Colgate Total Mouthwash. Executive producer was Susi Patterson and Alexandra Waring produced. The spot sprang from writer John Kewley and art director Leif Neilsen. Agency producer was Daina Liepa. Chameleon’s Andy Attalai edited.
Gordon also directed and shot a day for Petro-Canada Winter Gas through Roche Macaulay & Partners. The spot was written by Bill Martin and art directed by John Speakman. Agency producer was Dee Anderson. Editing was handled by Vince Trottola at Chameleon.
David Storey felt the need for speed and directed a day for Helene Curtis’ Degree antiperspirant with Olympian Donovan Bailey. Doug Koch was the dop and Panic & Bob’s David Hicks edited (see Storyboards opposite).
Derek Vanlint directed and shot three days for Tim Horton Donuts out of Enterprise Advertising. Mark Bisson was executive producer and Danielle Tedesco produced. Creative came from Enterprise writer Kevin Hawley and art director Eric Jurewich. The spot was edited by Chameleon’s Attalai.
The Directors Film Company’s Rob Quartly directed a day for a Hershey Canada Glosettes spot out of Doner Schur Peppler. Rene Ohashi was the dop and Mary Ann Tevlin produced.
Quartly also did a day for Harvey’s out of Ambrose Carr Linton Carroll. Ohashi was dop and Tevlin was producer.
At Heathgate Films, director/ dop Chris Woods shot a new Hyundai spot out of Bates on location in Calgary. The footage was well received by the agency and turned a planned 30 into a 60-second spot.
Disney director Peter Israelson helmed a Megablocks spot for Ritvik out of Stringer Veroni & Ketchum. Barry Parrell was the cinematographer.
Bob Perks directed and shot two days on location in Cape Breton Island for Dare Foods’ Breton Crackers out of svk. Editing was handled by Reel Ideas’ Peer Engelhardt.
The Partners’ Film Company’s Michael Cerny shot two and a half days in Nova Scotia for a 60-second spot for Tim Horton. The spot was created by writer Kevin Hawley and art director Eric Jurewich out of Enterprise Advertising. dop was Randall Gregg and Brant Lambermont of Partners’ Post edited.
