Montreal: sodec will administer Quebec’s new multimedia production and development fund, initially budgeted at $1 million.

Admissibility is restricted to cultural and educational multimedia titles produced in the French language and destined for the commercial market.

There is no cap per production, but sodec involvement is contingent on a marketing plan and variable recoupment expectations for the agency. Web site creation and corporate multimedia projects have been excluded.

The Quebec government has introduced a multimedia refundable tax credit program, to be administered by sodec, which covers up to a maximum of 30% of production costs. A 10% top-up is available for consumer titles produced in French. LRB
