At comm.bat films, director/dop Steve Gordon picked up a day for a Burger King ‘Whopper Value Meal’ spot through Ammirati Puris Lintas, New York. Post-production was handled in New York by Bender Editorial.
Robert Maya of comm.bat films Miami Beach directed a commercial for Miss Clairol. Nixon Binney was the dop on the three-day shoot through Grey Mexico and Fernando Mago of Miami’s Post Edge edited.
Radke director John Mastromonaco and dop Michael Buckley had one prelight and one studio shoot day for a Dove spot through Ogilvy & Mather. Gillian McCarthy at Third Floor Editing handled post.
Director Robert Black and dop Doug Koch at Radke had one day for Apple Canada. The assignment was through BBDO Toronto. Panic & Bob’s David Baxter edited.
Radke’s Philip Kates directed two days on location for the Samaritan Medical Center through Saatchi & Saatchi Business Communications, Rochester. Buckley was the dop and Peter McAuley at Daily Post edited.
Kates also teamed up with Koch on a Tekken 2/Ridge Racer spot through Darien & Kilburg, San Francisco. One prelight and three location shoot days were involved.
At Apple Box Vancouver, director/dop Hank Benson picked up three days for the Workers Compensation Board. Nine locations were used for the shoot. The assignment was through Cossette Communications and editing was handled by Poste Haste.
Avion’s Henry Holtzman directed an English/French 30 for Canon through Dentsu-Cadence. Barry Parrell was the dop on the two-days and Panic & Bob’s Andy Ames edited.
Also at Avion, director/dop James Gardner shot two days for a pool of Canadian Tire Spots out of Doner Schur Peppler. Smash Editing is handling post, with Barry Farrell editing.
Mark Storey wrapped three days for Manitoba Tel through Palmer Jarvis, Winnipeg. Gardner shot the three 30s and Flashcut’s Bob Kennedy edited.
Director/dop John Pytka completed a pool for Chrysler through bbdo. And director/dop George Morita shot a day for Maple Leaf Foods through Harrod & Mirlin.
Robert Quartly of The Directors Film Company picked up a day for the Ontario Lottery Corporation through Promanad Communications. dop was Simon Mestel. Quartly also wrapped two days for Harvey’s with dop Rene Ohashi. The assignment was through Ambrose, Carr.
And Directors’ Clinton Ashton shot and directed a spot for Toyota Dealers through Saatchi & Saatchi.
At The Players Film Company, David McNally directed two days for Labatt out of Axmith McIntyre Wicht. dop was Andre Pienaar and Norm Odell at Flashcut handled post.
McNally has also picked up four days out of smw for Manulife Financial. David Franco is shooting.
Director/dop Henry Less shot two spots for ITT Telephone. Daily Post and Calibre are handling post.
And Rob Thomas is directing a 30 for fcb and an undisclosed client. Sean Valenti is shooting and Chameleon’s Leo Zaharatos will edit.
Big Star’s Giacomo Moncada is directing a spot for Vinbon Wine out of Walsh & Associates, with Mario Madau as dop. Peer Engelhardt will edit and the lab is Medallion pfa.
Derek Case of Magic will shoot a day of high-speed for Source for Sports through Bowen & Binstock, a day for Kraft through jwt, and a day for East Side Marios through Stringer Veroni Ketchum.
