ITVA fetes its best

The best Canadian video productions in training, sales and marketing, and internal and external communications were showcased at the 10th Annual EVA Awards in Toronto on March 23.

Think Positive, a 16-minute video for health-care givers created by Frame 30 Productions in Edmonton, was the big winner, amassing five national awards including the Panasonic Judges’ Choice Award for Excellence in Production Achievement.

The Fuji Judges’ Choice Award for Excellence in Technical Achievement went to Josh’s Excellent Adventure by Toronto’s Cameron McCleery Productions. The 18-minute video for six- to nine-year-old children with asthma also won a gold eva in the External Communications category.

Wired Women, produced by Suddenly SeemoreProductions in Hamilton, Ont. for The Discovery Channel, struck gold in eva’s new Specialty Channel category for informational, documentary or educational programming for a first broadcast window on a Canadian specialty channel.

In the new Multimedia category, Royal Bank of Canada Global Private Banking won a gold eva for its GPB Electronic Resource Guide.

In total, nine gold, 13 silver and eight bronze evas were awarded at the ITVA Canada-sponsored event. itva (International Television Association) is a non-profit organization for corporate video producers.
