Hot Docs!, the documentary forum and awards show, received a record number – 204 – of entries this year. The nominees have been announced, 10 categories in addition to six craft categories and an award for Best of the Festival. Barna Alper Productions of Toronto received the most nominations of any independent company with three: Best Political Documentary for The Negotiator, Best Science/Technology/ Environment Documentary for Survivors and Best Social Issue Documentary for The Tenure of Dr. Fabrikant. The National Film Board racked up four for In My Own Time: Diary of a Cancer Patient, Blanc de Memoire, Anatomy of Desire and Lessons.

Now in its third year of operation, Hot Docs! will run in Toronto March 21 through 24.
