From making a young woman completely absorb a football player during an intimate encounter to devising ways of making victims bleed dayglo green, the manifestations of John Gajdecki’s varied talents are being recognized this year. Gajdecki is nominated three times in the newly created Best Visual Effects category at the Geminis.

‘I’ve killed a lot of people,’ says Gajdecki, recognizing the benefits such an avocation can have on one’s mental health, ‘and I sleep really well at night.’

Gajdecki is nominated for two episodes of the Trilogy Entertainment Group/Atlantis Films series The Outer Limits: ‘Caught in the Act,’ with Gudrun Heinze and Northwest Imaging and fx’s Brian Moylan, and ‘If These Walls Could Talk,’ with Paul Boyington. Gajdecki is also nominated through his company and colleague Claude Theriault (now a C.O.R.E Digital Pictures employee) for ‘Alter Ego,’ an episode of the Universal/Atlantis sci-fi series TekWar.
