News Brief: BC Film Funding

British Columbia Film has announced the first seven projects to receive development funding under its new applied support program. The program, launched last fall, evaluated a total of 45 applications this quarter, from dramatic, documentary and animated films to tv projects.

The approved projects are Ask Me Tomorrow, a comedy feature produced by Michelle Bjornson’s Point of View Film; Black Magic, a dramatic feature from writer Pat McCann; Dirty, a dramatic feature from Bruce Sweeney’s Cypher Productions; Prince of Denmark Properties, a dramatic feature produced by Harvey McKinnon; Shegalla Summer, a dramatic feature from Mort Ransen’s Ranfilm Productions; Twelve Days of Christmas, an animated tv series produced by Robert Frederick and Movie Vista Productions; and War Song, a dramatic feature from Loretta Todd.
