Members of the Canadian Cable Television Association are expected to announce a new lobbying organization at the end of the month. No word yet as to the name of the group, but an industry source says it will act in the same capacity for the cablecos as the Stentor group for the telecos. Members of the group are thought to include Rogers, Shaw, Videotron, and Cogeco.

Alliance Communications is coproducing a new series with ReBoot makers BLT Productions of Vancouver.

Transformers Beast Wars is a 26-episode kids series aimed at Saturday morning and made in conjunction with Hasbro, makers of the Transformer toys. blt is crewing up with plans to hire about 40 animators. The series will be made in Vancouver.
