Malofilm inks two deals

Malofilm Distribution has signed Canadian home video distribution deals with Time-Life Video and Hallmark Home Entertainment.

The five-year Time-Life agreement includes Canadian rights for Radical Sheep’s The Big Comfy Couch, Time-Life’s Lost Civilizations, Growing Younger with Deepak Chopra, m.d.; Angels: The Mysterious Force and Cigars: From Seeds to Smoke.

The Big Comfy Couch will launch Time-Life’s new junior label, Time-Life Kids, and is set for an October release. Comfy Couch was Malofilm’s lead title at the recent Focus on Video show held in Toronto.

Under the two-year deal with Hallmark – covering mostly mows and assorted catalogue and acquired stock – about 20 titles a year will be distributed.

Primal Secrets starring Meg Tilly, Hole in the Sky starring Sam Elliott and Getting Out with Rebecca de Mornay are the first out. Malofilm had previously distributed certain Hallmark titles through a deal with Republic.
